The feed comprises the full range of trading sessions and across an extensive assortment of reported, derived and statistical data elements. Additionally it gives you access to real-time news from 12 national and international agencies.
Depending on your technical and information requirements, MDF can be customised to your needs and delivered via three standardised APIs: MDFselect, MDFxpress and MDFstream.

Speed

Based on SIX Telekurs' new market data architecture, the total latency of the MDF is reduced to 50 - 150 ms, measured under full load. For the current Market Data Feed MDF, total data latency measured over the whole production chain (data input to end customer, including consolidation, normalisation, quality checking, real-time calculation and customised delivery) is 300-500 ms for local solutions.

Coverage

Wherever possible, SIX Telekurs obtains data from source. MDF is powered by a database containing approx. 3 million financial instruments, covering all security types from virtually every geographical region. Customised Data Feed

MDF is a customisable feed. With the next MDF generation, you will be able not only to select the trading places from which you want to receive data but also specific “grades” of this data: e.g. direct feed, synchronous and asynchronous calculated and derived values, etc. Thus the feed can be optimised to the available bandwidth.

Normalised and Interlinkable Data

MDF is delivered in a consolidated and consistent format.
Because we use the same standards in all our products, MDF data can be linked to non-real time information such as reference data and corporate actions.

Consistent Delivery Interfaces

Two simple APIs are optimised for data delivery according to different needs:

• MDFselect caches real-time data and offers additional functionality on different levels. It is used for broad information demands and mid to high data throughput.
• MDFstream is based on a sophisticated rapid queuing design for high data throughput.
